Everything you wanted to know about Christianity
at the Anglican Parish of the Otways
Please join me each week for our reflections
of sermons conducted during our church service.
Plus, occasional splashes of humour and epiphanies!
With much Love and Blessings
Rev. Jenny Brandon
I LOVE gardening! Whenever I can get a day to myself I love to spend it in my garden, weeding, pruning and generally enjoying the birds and critters who inhabit the garden. Being winter, I have recently set about pruning my roses, quite a job because I have 21 of them.
Over the last couple of years I have been unable to give them a really good prune due to illness and other commitments but this year I was able to set aside a couple of days to get them done.
WHEN working with our indigenous students
in the Northern Territory, one young man,
who pretty much only owned the clothes
he stood up in, was able to buy some
shoes, the only shoes he owned.
They were his pride and joy.
But when another student was in need of a pair of shoes,
he willingly gave up those shoes
because he deemed his fellow student’s need to be greater.
I’M going to begin by sharing a couple of truths with you.
First of all, everyone needs healing. That’s right…everyone. Some of us might have a need for physical healing, but all of us, every single one of us, has a need for spiritual healing. We’re not all physically ill, but we are all sinners.
