LAST week we had the joy of having the Bishop with us as 4 people confirmed their faith in God.
Confirmation marks the point in the Christian journey at which you affirm for yourself the faith into which you have been baptized and your intention to live a life of committed discipleship.
This affirmation is confirmed through prayer and the laying on of hands by the confirming bishop. The Church also asks God to give you power through the Holy Spirit to enable you to live in the way of Jesus.

Candidates went along to confirmation classes leading up to the service so they could understand exactly what they were doing and the responsibilities they were taking on and all were very excited to be having this wonderful opportunity of professing their faith in God.
Family and friends witnessed this happy event, with some traveling as far as England to be with the candidates on the day. As the mother of some of the candidates wrote:

After the beautiful and uplifting service we all enjoyed a delicious cake in the church hall, inscribed in chocolate with words of congratulations to each the candidates. It was exactly the sort of service that I had always hoped my children would have.”
