A little about Rev. Jenny and hubbie Richard...
I was raised in a Christian home and have been active in church activities all my life, I was ordained as a deacon in Christ the King Cathedral Ballarat in 2008. From there I served happily in my local parish in Portland, working predominately with youth and their families.

In 2010 my husband and I moved to Woolaning in the NT to serve as house parents, caring for 12 teenage indigenous youths enabling them to go to school. This was demanding but very satisfying work and enabled us to immerse ourselves in Indigenous culture as we got to know our student's families.

In 2012 we moved to Katherine where Richard continued to work as a house parent and I worked as a deacon in the local Anglican congregation and School Chaplain at a predominately indigenous primary school. Here we could continue our work of sharing the gospel with our indigenous cousins. We also spent many days traveling to remote indigenous communities to encourage them and share their joys and sorrows.

While at Katherine I was privileged to help with the very beginnings of translating the prayer book into Kriol. Although my Kriol was almost non existent it was a privilege to assist the, Kriol speaking elders of the surrounding indigenous churches. We then began the process of formalising their own prayer book, a work which they have now completed.

It was with much joy we accepted Bishop Garry Weatherill’s invitation to take up the role of priest in the Otways Parish. We count ourselves blessed to be able to serve the people of this place as we seek to fulfill the will of God here in the Otways.
